Litha represents midsummer (the summer solstice) a celebration of the sun at it’s fullest strength. On the pagan wheel of the year, Litha is when the sun is at the peak of the summer cycle. We have now built up to the climax of summer, the peak of the party. Then following Litha the earth’s energy wanes, similar to when a festival or party is coming to a close.
